Pasadena living!

About Laurel

I am so thankful to call Pasadena home. Before settling here, my husband and I lived in the charming town of Exeter, New Hampshire. Along the way, we also had the chance to live in a sunny flat near Regent’s Park in London and in an apartment overlooking the Danube in Budapest.
Now in Pasadena, I’m surrounded by all the things I love — beautiful neighborhoods, a strong sense of place, and a creative, engaged community. My husband Stephen is the Dean of the College of Arts and Letters at Cal State LA, and together we’ve found a real connection here. We share our home with two quirky rescue dogs, Marlowe and Maisie. I love to spend my downtime exploring the city, heading out to the desert, or chasing down fantastic vintage finds.

Real Estate & Experience

With over 30 years as a licensed real estate agent, I’ve worked across a wide range of roles and regions — from Illinois to New England, and now Southern California. Based in Pasadena, I focus on helping people discover homes with character and stories of their own.
Whether you're buying or selling, my approach blends personal connection with decades of real-world experience and a deep understanding of the local market.

-Traveling (especially Greece and the desert landscapes of Palm Springs)
-Supporting rescue animals
-Enjoying the rich culture and history that Pasadena offers

A Perfect Pasadena Afternoon at Desiderio Park

May 15th 2025 - Today was one of those picture-perfect Pasadena afternoons — sunny, breezy, and too beautiful to stay indoors. I headed to one of my favorite peaceful spots: Desiderio Neighborhood Park, tucked beneath the Colorado Street Bridge in the Arroyo Seco.
This little green space is such a gem. Shady parking, open lawn, and quiet trails make it ideal for a midday break. I brought along an agua fresca — sandía, of course, my favorite — found a sunny bench, and just sat for a while. Birdsong, filtered light through the trees, and the slow rhythm of the day reminded me how lucky we are to live here.
Pasadena has so many little spots like this: quiet, beautiful, and full of soul. Desiderio Park is always near the top of my list when I need a reset.
